Zerg Counter Unit Strategy
When you play Starcraft 2 as Zerg it is very important to know which units you should build in order to counter your opponent's attacks. This guide will show you how to build the right units at the right time in order to defeat your enemy. The first is the dreaded marine marauder combo that most Terran players love to use these days. The Zerg counter to this is simple, banelings and zerglings. The banelings will take out entire groups of marines and marauders without much trouble and the zerglings will clean up the leftovers. The Zerg counter to this is an infestor, use the infestor to take control of the thor and turn it against the Terran player. The Zerg counter for this is to make zerglings early and get them speed upgrade in the spawning pool going as soon as you can. Now lets talk about playing against Protoss. The Protoss may use a zealot and stalker combo in which case you should again build an army of banelings and zerglings to take them out.

Zerg End Game - Ultralisks Or Brood Lords?
So far, Zerg games have been (let's ignore Zerg vs Zerg for this guide) relatively straight forward. Defend from any harassment the Terran or Protoss might throw at you (vikings, phoenix, reapers, immortal pushes), expand and macro up your hydralisk/roach army and try to out expand your opponent. Throw in banelings and sneaky nydus networks plus speedlings and you've got your opponent throwing all their resources into their ground army, trying to wipe out your main army as well as your expansions.
A time when Zerg neeed to use Tier 3 units! If the Terran player is heavy on marines and marauders or lots of vikings then you should go ultralisks.
When facing Protoss you should watch for immortals and/or air power such as phoenix or void rays in which case you should go brood lords. Immortals are designed for taking down big ground units such as ultralisks and the void rays will pick apart your ultralisks from the safety of air.
Zerg - Earlyrly Expansion Strategy
As a Zerg player we need to realize that our strength is in out gathering and out producing our opponents. We have a hard time keeping up with the higher tech units of Terran and Protoss. So to counter this we need expand faster and more often then our enemy while at the same time keeping them from expanding. This guide will teach you the basics of the Zerg early expansion strategy.
Use zerglings to harass the enemy and keep them busy while at the same time building up your second base.
As soon as you have upgraded to a lair you should have 2 bases up and running while our opponent will only have one. At this point you need to get hydralisks so you have some anti air.
starcraft 2 protoss strategy Terran Harassment Strategy
In Starcraft 2 harassment is the name of the game. If you can keep yourself one step ahead of your opponent by using harassment techniques, chances are you'll pull out a win in the end. This is especially true when playing as Terran. In this guide I will show you the basics of effective Terran harassment.
Vikings are possibly my favorite Terran unit. A lot of newer players will easily dismiss them as "useless" since they don't attack ground units unless in assault mode. One of the best maps for viking harassment is kulas ravine. A 1v1 map that has of lot of high ground overlooking mineral expansion points. If the Zerg player expands early get a starport and build a few vikings. You can drop them on the high ground right overlooking the expansion. Tactics like this are also useful when playing against a Protoss player as well.
Protoss Vs Zerg Basic Strategy
Playing against a good Zerg player can be challenging but with the right units a Protoss player can dominate. This guide will show you how to beat a Zerg player 1v1 by using the right unit counters and scouting techniques.
Of course there is one other major option that a Zerg player can use and that is building infestors. A good Zerg player with infestors can be a big problem for us so keep an eye out for these and if you see them coming the smartest thing to do is build some air units such as void rays or phoenix to handle the infestors from the air. If you follow this guide and learn the strenghts and weaknesses of your units then beating even a very good Zerg player can be a breeze.
